Hope everyone had a Happy St.Patrick's Day this week!

"Wishing you a rainbow for sunlight after showers—

Miles and miles of Irish smiles for golden happy hours—

Shamrocks at your doorway for luck and laughter too,

And a host of friends that never ends each day your whole life through!"

-- An Irish Toast to all our members --

Rotary This Week March 19th - Our diinner meeting this week at the Williamsburg Lodge. will feature our guest speaker Williamsburg's City Manager Jack Tuttle being hosted by Bobby Braxton.  I am sure we are all looking forward to hearing Jack's presentation addressing the city's management of services during this tough economic climate.

Condolences: Our hearts go out this week to our club member, Mayor Jeanne Zeidler, and her husband Ed Crapol and their family for the loss of their son, Andrew Crapol, this past week.  A memorial Celebration of Andy's life is scheduled to be held at the William & Mary's Wren Chapel Courtyard at 2:00 pm on March 28. In recognition of the many friendships Andy made as a member of the soccer community and his love of “the beautiful game” of soccer, a scholarship has been established for those wishing to contribute.  Donations can be made to the College of William and Mary Foundation, with the notation “Andrew Crapol Scholarship Fund,” P.O. Box 1693, Williamsburg, VA  23187.

We also wish to offer our condolences to our long-time member Ed Roesch on the recent passing of his dad, Edgar B. Roesch.

Rotary Next Week – Our meeting next week will be held at the Corner Pocket where we will be obliged to hold the 3rd annual club Pool game competition to both determine who the shark is in our midst as well as collect some money to support our charitable giving for 2009.  Our host as usual for this evening of fun wil be Bob Tubbs.  Good luck to all pool players for the evening.

Last Thursday's Meeting
Our club was honored last week to have Admiral James Loy, USCG (Ret), who was Deputy Director of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Chief Operating Officer of our transportation Security Administration (TSA) during there establishment and start-up operations.  Adm Loy not only touched on the formation of initial guidelines that were developed to provide leadership during those early days after 9/11 but he enlightened us on the pressures faced by management as they coordinated actions across our government's departments. Adm Loy's member host for the evening was Bill Kaufmann.

THE FOUR-WAY TEST
Test of the things we think, say, or do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

"Make Dreams Real,"

President Lee's theme reflects the world as he would like it to be – one in which children have the best possible chance at survival and the opportunity to reach their dreams.
